These
simple banded plates are ideal for adding an accent of color to the
table. They are commonly found in Europe in corner cafes and neighborhood
restaurants. This line is a great way to add a special touch for virtually
the same price as basic white chinaware. The Bands line is based on
the fully vitrified Bourrelet shape. The rim is mod-erately wide (1
1/2" for the 10" plate) and slightly slanted while the plate
is thick and strong. All pieces are guaranteed to be first quality.
Plates have a soft, rounded but distinct glazed foot. Fired three
times, all pieces of the in glaze pattern are guaranteed to be first
quality and to last a lifetime. The Band lines are broiler proof,
shock resistant, microwave and dish-washer safe. They can retain a
wide range of temperatures from hot to cold and have excellent heat
retention. With a shock resistance of up to 800 lbs. and perfect whiteness,
the Band line is part of a lineage of chinaware more than 250 years
old.
