Did you know beating eggs in a copper bowl makes fluffier eggs? I didn’t. I still don’t know why, but since I have used this bowl I have learned it is true! This is a great bowl and I love it.
However, it should be known that in order to get the effect you would want from a copper bowl, you have to get rid of the coating that is on the bowl when you buy it.
The manufacturer says you need to buy a special lacquer remover that is hard to find before using the bowl for food products. I did some searching and found a cheaper way: boil 6 quarts of water, add 3 T of baking soda and dip the bowl into the mixture with tongs. Keep dipping it in the water until you see the coating come off in tiny pieces. Before using it for food, make sure the lacquer is completely off. You may need to do this a few times. Then take a cloth and rub to remove any little bits of coating. Hand wash the bowl and dry.
I dropped the stars to 4 because of the extra work to prepare the bowl, but if you are willing, it is definitely worth 5 stars.
